Pitching an InternshipĮach year, students are invited to submit proposals for 250-hour summer internships with nonprofits, university entities, or small startups that are otherwise unable to pay interns. Since its inception in 2015, the program has facilitated over hundreds of internships in Chicago and around the world. UChicagoGRAD’s GRAD Global Impact (GGI) Pitch program funds UChicago graduate students to spend their summers in self-devised internships with host organizations of their choice. Questions? Email Kathrin Kranz at Pitch Program Details Students interested in building experience in higher education administration should consider UChicagoGRAD’s Credential in Higher Education Administration, a co-curricular professional development program that supports aspiring college and university administrators. Then, schedule a meeting with a UChicagoGRAD career advisor to discuss your internship options. Review the infographic below to determine which GGI program is right for you. Stipends of $6,000 will be awarded to eligible projects and are available on a rolling basis. Design an internship project or pursue a pre-established internship in academia, industry, nonprofits, or government in the year you graduate with your PhD or directly after you receive your PhD. PhD students also have the opportunity to apply for academic-year pitch internships each July. Pitch internship deadlines occur each year in mid-February. A limited number of $6,000 stipends will be awarded to students for these internship projects.
